Pure Avalon 300R Connect Freeview+ HD TV recorder launched

Pure has launched its first Freeview HD digital TV recorder, the Pure Avalon 300R Connect, which includes BBC iPlayer, YouTube and music and internet radio services from Pure.

The Pure Avalon 300R Connect offers users free access to four HD channels and over 50 SD channels, with the ability to record a single programme or whole series via the 8-Day Electronic Programme guide.

Pure Avalon 300R Connect Features

Via the Pure Avalon 300R Connect set top box, users can watch over 50 SD channels or opt for one of the four free HD channels with the ability to pause and rewind live TV for up to two hours. Users are even prompted when there is an HD version of their programme available to make sure they are always watching the highest quality picture.

Users can record live TV using the Pure Avalon 300R Connect’s internal memory, with 500GB or 1TB options available. The larger storage option can hold up to 600 hours of SD or 250 hours of HD video recordings. The Pure Avalon 300R Connect’s dual-tuners mean two channels can be recorded simultaneously.

The Pure Avalon 300R Connect features built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing access to a variety of on-demand services, such as the latest HTML5 versions of BBC iPlayer and YouTube. The Pure Connect functionality brings audio entertainment to the Pure Avalon 300R Connect, allowing users to enjoy internet radio stations, on-demand radio programmes and podcasts.

Pure says the Pure Avalon 300R Connect boasts a “high-performance user interface”, powered by Imagination Technologies’ Power VR graphics and Intel CE 4150 processor. It claims to make navigating the Pure Avalon 300R Connect much easier and more enjoyable, offering personalisation options such a setting a list of favourite channels.

With support for Dolby Digital Plus with 7.1 channels of audio, the Pure Avalon 300R Connect also provides 4 HDMI ports for simple TV input and device connectivity,

Coming soon to the Pure Avalon 300R Connect will be the Pure Music service, offering millions of music tracks through a subscription service, and compatibility with Pure Stream technology. This enables iOS and Android smartphone users to stream music wirelessly to the Pure Avalon 300R Connect and save SD recordings on a USB stick to watch on other devices.

Pure Avalon 300R Connect Price and Release Date

The Pure Avalon 300R Connect will be released in both 500GB and 1TB versions, priced at £299.99 and £349.99 respectively. The Freeview HD TV recorder will be available for purchase now from John Lewis and Amazon, with selected retailers set to stock the Pure Avalon 300R later this week.
