PS4 Remote Play coming to PC this week, unofficially

You’ll soon be able to use PS4 Remote Play on your PC thanks to one clever developer.

If you’ve ever wanted to play your PS4 games on your PC, you’ll be pleased to hear you’ll soon be able to.

Well, if you fancied streaming games to your PC via Remote Play anyway.

Developer Twisted has managed to create a PC version of Sony’s native Remote Play feature, which currently allows you to play PS4 titles streamed to your PS Vita or selected Sony Xperia devices.

That won’t mean that you’ll start seeing PS4 exclusives on the Steam store, but just be able to stream your titles from your console to your PC.

Just as you can with Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs and tablets.

It isn’t like Remote Play wasn’t possible on the PC before, but to do it you needed to run an Android app in an emulator. However, latency and other technical hiccups were very commonplace.

Twisted’s Remote Play PC Client will cost £6.50 when it launches tomorrow, November 25, and of course isn’t officially supported by Sony.

“I’d like to work on this project full time, adding features, getting it stable and porting it to other platforms which I know a lot of you want,” explained Twisted. “The only way to support this is to charge for the app, all my previous projects have been free and I don’t want to have to but sadly its the only ways to support my living costs.”

“On the plus side this means I have more time to work on the project and provide support to its users, something which I’ve been limited on in the past.”

“I hope you all can understand my reason for going this route and continue to support the project.”
