PS4 Neo won’t affect the console lifecycle, according to Sony
The launch of the PS4 Neo will not impact the overall lifecycle of PS4, Sony’s head of worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed.
Speaking to German website Gameswelt.TV (via Videogamer), Yoshida said that “PS4 is PS4” and the original model and Neo will exist together in the same market.
“[The] new high-end PS4 is still PS4, so the lifecycle is not going to be shorter.”
Many speculate that the PS4 Neo will launch later this year alongside Playstation VR, giving players the option to upgrade their system if need be.

Yoshida is also expressed some surprise at Microsoft’s announcement of Project Scorpio at E3 2016.
“I was surprised [Microsoft announced Scorpio],” Yoshida said. “I was not expecting them to talk about [it]. It’s very very super interesting what they are doing.”
Project Scorpio is scheduled to launch in Winter 2017 and will act as the successor to Xbox One. Much like PS4 Neo, it is planned to exist alongside existing consoles.
