Meet the world’s first PS4 controller-operated Nissan GT-R
Nissan just created the world’s first PS4 controller-operated Nissan GT-R and it’s the ultimate remote-control car for gamers.
The full-size supercar whizzed around Silverstone and reached a top speed of over 130mph, driven purely by a PlayStation 4 DualShock.
It’s all to celebrate the release of Gran Turismo Sport, and brings gaming to life in the most perfect way.
GT Academy winner and NISMO driver Jann Mardenborough was the lucky rascal charged with manoeuvring the thing, and he did so from the cockpit of a helicopter to make it all the cooler.
It works by linking the unmodified DualShock®4 to a microcomputer which then interpreted every button bash and transmitted the commands to the onboard systems inside the GT-R /C.
Next year it’ll be used in a tour of schools in the UK to promote future careers in STEM subjects, and we’re already intrigued to see how many gamer kids try to yoink it.
Let’s face it, any racing sim fan would love to take this for a spin.
