PS4 Battlefield 4 update delayed

Publisher EA has revealed that the scheduled Battlefield 4 update for the PS4 has been delayed due to the need for additional testing.

Having originally been planned to launch today, December 3, the bug addressing Battlefield 4 date will now be rolled out at an undisclosed point in the future.

The PS4 game update that was originally meant to go live Dec 3 is undergoing some additional testing and will be rescheduled for a later date,” a statement from Battlefield 4 developer DICE announced. “We will get back with final details as soon as we have verification that the update is good to go.”

Although Battlefield 4 has been met with considerable critical and consumer acclaim, the game has been found to fall victim of a number of bugs from time-to-time.

The delayed update was set to address the widely publicised ‘one-hit kill’ bug which has been found to register the effects of a single bullet multiple times, causing games to fall to untimely deaths.

Other Battlefield 4 problems set to be targeted by the delayed patch include the loss of audio in PS4 video captures and a repeated crashing issue affecting those players with a large number of online friends.

While the PS4 bound Battlefield 4 update has been hit by delays, the PC version of the game has today received a patch to address a number of issues with the first-person shooter.

The third highest selling PS4 game during the next-gen console’s launch week in the UK, Battlefield 4 outside bitter rival Call of Duty: Ghosts on the new Sony console.

The PS4’s leading cross-platform shooter, Battlefield 4 was outsold only by the console exclusive Killzone: Shadow Fall and football based FIFA 14 during the console’s opening week on sale.
