PS4 and PS Vita Ultimate Bundle to launch before Christmas
Sony is reportedly bringing a PS Vita and PS4 Ultimate Edition Bundle to the UK before Christmas.
Looking to boost PS Vita sales by highlighting the interactivity between the PS4 and the handheld console, Sony will release a PS4 Ultimate Bundle in time for the holiday season.
The Japanese electronics giant is putting £2.5 million behind the PS Vita, which includes an extensive £2.5 million TV campaign for the handheld.
Although the MCV source didn’t give any specific release date or offer pricing details for the PS4 Ultimate Bundle, it is said to be launching before Christmas.
“We’re really excited for Vita as we move into Christmas,” said Sony’s senior product manager Ben Law.
The company is looking to highlight the PS4 Remote Play functionality within the PS Vita, which is accessible via the PS4 Link app included within the latest PS Vita system software update version 3.00.
GAME already offers a PS4 bundle which includes the PS Vita. Priced at £664.97, you’ll get both consoles, a digital copy of Killzone: Shadow Fall and physical copies of Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Sony’s PS Vita TV campaign is entitled “The Best Way to Play” and will promote the PS Vita’s Remote Play feature and the Q4 exclusive – Tearaway.
Both Remote Play and Second Screen functionality arrived in the huge new PS Vita software update within the PS4 Link app.
Remote Play lets you stream PS4 gameplay to your Vita via Wi-Fi to free up the main TV in the house.
“Gaming performance of Remote Play will be best when PS4 is connected via Ethernet, and the PS Vita is in close to the Wi-Fi access point.”
The Second Screen functionality works in a similar fashion to the Xbox One SmartGlass app for Android, iOS and Windows Phone 8 devices.
The PS4 will be released on Friday, November 29 in the UK. It was launched in the US on November 15 in the US.
