PS2 classic Dark Cloud 2 is coming to PS4 this week

JRPG Dark Cloud 2 is coming to PS4 as a PS2 classic this week, Sony has confirmed.

The PS2 had plenty of fantastic RPGS during its lifespan, and Dark Cloud 2 was definitely one of them.

Now the beloved classic is coming to PS4, and you can play it this week. Sony announced the release date on the Playstation Blogcast, which is becoming a common site for PS2 classic announcements.

Developed by Level 5 (and known as Dark Chronicle in the UK), Dark Cloud 2 is the spiritual sequel to the original Dark Cloud.

It features many of the same mechanics, but places a larger focus on unique characters and storytelling.

Dark Cloud 2 originally launched in 2002 in Japan and 2003 in North America and Europe. The first Dark Cloud is also available on PS4 if you want to get caught up.

Some of the PS2 classics now on PS4 include: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Rogue Galaxy, Parappa The Rapper 2 and Twisted Metal Black.

Sony rolled out PS2 emulation for the PS4 in November 2015, and has been gradually adding new titles since then.

However, the company has received some backlash regarding the pricing model of classic games, and the lack of traditional backwards compatibility.

All PS2 classics come included with support for trophies, cloud saves and higher resolution graphics.
