Project Cars to offer free car DLC packs every month

Project Cars will gift gamers with free car DLC packs every month, the developer has promised.

Slightly Mad has announced gamers who purchase Project Cars when it comes out in May will get monthly free DLC packs.

It seems like you might just get one supercar in a DLC pack, but it’s still a way for Slightly Mad to keep Project Cars feeling fresh post-launch.

It’s a similar strategy to that adopted by DriveClub developer Evolution, who drops DLC packs with new vehicles or tracks every month.

Slightly Mad has confirmed that the first free car is the Lykan Hypersport. This is a futuristic supercar from the Middle East and is one of the stars of the movie Furious 7.

“We are immensely pleased to have this awesome machine in the game and to give gans the chance to get behind the wheel of a truly amazing vehicle,” said Andy Tudor, Creative Director on Project Cars, in a blog post.

“The Lykan Hypersport represents the first of a series of free cars we’ll be giving away every month as a thank you to our fans for being so patient for the launch of the game.”

“We’ll have more info on the full schedule of further content for Project Cars soon but we hope that this is a great sneak peek of just one way in which Project Cars is going to expand in the future.”

Project Cars was originally due out in November last year, but was subsequently delayed repeatedly – first to March, then April and now the game is out in May.

This free content is partly compensation for the game’s repeated delays.
