ViewSonic’s new X Series LCD models emphasis design and styling as well as image quality.
In a bid to further enhance its reputation as a designer of stylish LCD displays, ViewSonic has updated its X Series line of LCD monitors with three new models. The 15in VX510 and 17in VX715 are available now with a 19in version to follow later in the year. The 15in model offers a native resolution of 1,024 x 768, while the 17in version boosts this to 1,280 x 1,024.
The new models hope to conquer both the home and work markets with a classic design aesthetic that emphasises elegant simplicity. The new panels sport a slim bezel with rounded edges set-off with a silver background and judging from the pictures they do look impressive.
Connectivity is good with both analogue and DVI connectors. Image quality hasn’t been ignored either with both models offering a claimed contrast ratio of 450:1 and a panel response time of 25ms. Though these figures aren’t as impressive as some of the latest LCDs on the market, Viewsonic has informed us that an updated version of the 15in panel offering a 16ms response time will be available in August.
Pricing is likely to be competitive but we’ll reserve judgement until we’ve seen these new displays first hand.
