Pokemon Shuffle is Nintendo’s first Android and iOS game

Nintendo has released Pokemon Shuffle for iOS and Android, marking the release of its first ever mobile game.

The Pokemon Company has launched Pokemon Shuffle Mobile on the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play title.

The match-three puzzle game does offer a selection of in-app purchases though, just so you’re warned in advance.

Pokemon Shuffle Mobile sees players dealing damage against wild Pokemon by matching three or more Pokemon in a row. Players clear stages when the enemy’s health bar has completely depleted.

You will need to use Mega-Evolved Pokemon, level up your own crew and match types with the wild Pokemon to deal extra heavy hits. Any wild Pokemon can be caught when defeated, but it’s not always a guaranteed catch.

There are currently over 150 Pokemon available in the game.

It’s the first time Nintendo has released a mobile game, but it certainly won’t be the last.

Back in March, Nintendo announced a partnership with Japanese developer DeNA, a leading mobile games company.

The two companies will embark on “joint development and operation of gaming applications for smart devices using Nintendo’s intellectual property, including its characters.”

However, back in March, DeNA stated that “only new original games optimsed for smart device functionality will be created, rather than porting games created specifically for the Wii U home console or the Nintendo 3DS portable system.”

Pokemon Shuffle was originally released as a 3DS title, so its already partly gone back on its promise.

This is one game that works well on mobile though. Although, we might argue it looks better on 3DS.
