PS Plus leak

Sony has announced prices of its PlayStation Plus membership are going up next month.

From September 22 - a month from today - an annual membership in the US and Canada will cost $60 a month, up $10 on the current subscription cost.

Sony is also making it less attractive for gamers to take out 3-month memberships, increasing the tariff from $18 to $25, which is a whopping 39 per cent increase.

A one-month month membership will still be $10.

In fairness to Sony, this is the first time it has raised the cost for the PlayStation Plus platform in North America since it launched in 2010.

UK gamers saw prices rise in last year, but will be unaffected by this hike.

If you’ve let your subscription lapse, you can subscribe now for the current prices before the new tiers take effect.
