PlayStation Plus August titles announced

Sony has revealed the free PlayStation Plus August titles, with the games landing on August 6.

Although like us you might be swamped with games you’re still yet to play, the PlayStation Plus August titles have just been announced and you might be quite excited.

With each month, the PlayStation Plus service offers two free games for each of the Sony consoles – PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.

The first PlayStation Plus August PS4 title is Polytron’s highly acclaimed Fez, which is a 2D platform puzzle game set in a 3D world. You must travel through time and space, manipulating the world to travel through each level and discover the mysteries of the past.

Fez is awesome, but we’re particularly excited that brand new PS4 game The Road Not Taken is being offered for free next month with PlayStation Plus.

Created by Spry Fox, the beautiful puzzle adventure will see you trying to survive the surprises life throws at you.

“You play as a ranger adventuring through a vast, unforgiving forest in the aftermath of a brutal winter storm, rescuing children that have lost their way,” explains Sony.

For the PS3, gamers get Crysis 3, where you’ll play as Prophet, a Nanosuit solder trying to rid the world of Ceph and the corrupted CELL Corporation. There’s also Proteus from Curve Studios for the PlayStation Plus PS3 August titles too, which is cross-buy for PS Vita.

Speaking of the PS Vita, next month’s PlayStation Plus offers you the atmospheric puzzler Metrico, another brand new title for PlayStation consoles.

“The game is based around the beauty of infographics in a world built around bar, line and pie charts where the environment changes instantly with your input.”

There’s also LEGO Harry Potter Year 5-7 for the PS Vita, if you’re looking for something a little less high-brow.
