Pandora internet radio app arrives on Windows Phone 8
Internet radio app, Pandora, is now available for Windows Phone 8 users for free from the Windows Phone Store.
From today, Windows Phone 8 users can download Pandora for ad-free, internet radio with no monthly limits or charges until December 31. This level of access is usually only supported with the paid-for premium version of the app, but Windows Phone 8 users will receive this luxury for free until the end of the year.
Pandora users on Windows Phone 8 will be able to utilise a Live Tile that shows what is currently playing on the smartphone’s Start screen, as well as offering one-tap access to the app from the Live Tile. Windows Phone 8 handset owners can also pin their favourite stations to the Start Screen for quick and easy access.
Specifically designed to work with the Windows Phone 8 Kid’s Corner, the Pandora app will automatically filter out any unsuitable content whenever the app is launched from the parental control zone.
The app offers a personalised radio service, akin to that offered by the radio tab of the Spotify music streaming service. Users can pick their favourite artist, song, comedian or composer and Pandora will create a tailor-made station according to their selections. In this way, users can create up to 100 personal stations using the Pandora app.
Existing Pandora users will find all their stations and preferences transfer to the Windows Phone 8 app when they log in too.
The Windows Phone 8 Pandora app also features customisable shuffle options and the ability to buy songs and albums from the Windows Phone Store from within the app.
Pandora’s internet radio app can be downloaded now from the Windows Phone 8 Store for free on handsets such as the Nokia Lumia 920.
