Panasonic has taken the wraps of its 2013 lineup of plasma TVs, which this year are lead by the Panasonic ZT60.

Panasonic’s plasma range have been favourites of home movie buffs for some years now, with many including ourselves, believing its plasma TVs to be the best in the business. So expectations are high for these latest models – we’ll be getting eyes and hands on soon enough to find out if they live up to them.

Panasonic ZT60, VT60, ST60, S60 and X60 Specs
The new flagship of the range is the ZT60, which will be available in 60 or 65in sizes. One of the key new enhancements of the ZT60 range is that the plasma panel is bonded to the front pane of glass. In a technique similar to that employed by the latest smartphones this will help to reduce internal reflections and boost brightness. It also has a wider colour gamut (DCI 98% colour space) thanks to a new red phosphor.

The so called Studio Master Panel will be joined by touch pad control, a new smart TV interface, inbuilt Wi-Fi, three USB ports, THX modes, and much more. However, it will only feature three HDMIs, which for a flagship TV is relatively low.

Next up in the range is the Panasonic VT60 which offers up most of what the ZT60 has but without the bonded panel, though it does add a webcam – a first for Panasonic. It will be available in 50, 55, 60 and 65in models, and realistically it’s the model most of us will be targeting. Next we have the ST60 which will be available in the same range of sizes as the VT60. All these models will feature a personalized home screen and Viera Connect with Swipe & Share for transferring photos and videos from your smartphone or tablet with a flick of the finger.

Finally we have the non-3D S60 and X60, which go down to 42in. All the new models, except the X60, will also support an optional Electronic Touch Pen accessory.

Release Date and Price

Asll the new Panasonic 2013 plasmas will be available in February though pricing has not yet been announced.
