Blizzard’s upcoming shooter Overwatch is now coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC, the developer has confirmed.

Overwatch was previously confirmed to only be coming to PC, but it looks like a console release is on the way too.

Blizzard’s upcoming title is a class-based first-person shooter that takes inspiration from titles such as DOTA 2, Team Fortress 2 and Heroes of the Storm.

Each individual character has a unique style, appearance and abilities that can be used on the battlefield to assist your team and defeat the enemy.

Imagines Overwatch as a mixture of DOTA 2 and Team Fortress 2, with some modern FPS mechanics thrown in for good measure.

Overwatch was first announced at Blizzcon 2014, where the game was shown off with an extensive gameplay demo and character-focused trailers.

A PS4 and Xbox One release has officially been confirmed, with listings of “Overwatch: Origins Edition” having been spotted at US retailer Gamestop for $60 (around £40)

Blizzcon 2015 is set to take place this weekend, so we can expect some more detail on the console versions in the next few days.

Our money is on some kind of beta period for each platform, and more juicy information on Overwatch as a whole.

Overwatch is scheduled for release during the first half of 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
