Overwatch Insurrection event leak reveals new skins and mode

Details on the next big Overwatch event appear to have leaked on the PlayStation France YouTube channel via a now removed trailer.

Known as ‘Overwatch Insurrection,’ the upcoming event will travel back in time to depict our heroes as trainee members of Overwatch and Blackwatch.

As usual, players will gain access to a number of new skins, sprays and emotes for all of their favourite heroes. Particular attention has been paid to Tracer, Mercy, Widowmaker and Torbjorn with some brilliant new outfits.

Insurrection seems to be set in a daytime variant of King’s Row, a map in the game located in London, England. Players will have to work together to fight against an army of omnic enemies that are, presumably, AI-controlled.

Limited to four heroes – Tracer, Mercy, Torbjorn and Reinhardt – the mode intends for players to “relive one of the key moments in the history of Overwatch.” You can probably expect some big lore revelations, then.

Set to take place from April 11 until May 1, Blizzard Entertainment will likely release a formal announcement for the event later today. If you can’t wait any longer, you can kill time with the latest Overwatch comic that preludes the event.
