Overwatch News – What’s the latest?

According to a recent job listing, the Overwatch universe could be set to expand with new locations and characters. Blizzard is looking for a “talented and experienced creative writer to join the Overwatch team who can quickly iterate upon the existing world”.

This could be Blizzard preparing for an upcoming, lore-heavy seasonal event or perhaps just expanding upon the existing story elements found in Overwatch. Either way, we’re eager to see more of it.

Overwatch Patch Notes – What are the latest changes?

Year of the Dog is now in full-swing and Blizzard has taken the opportunity to make some big changes to its roster of heroes amongst the festivities. Many of the new alterations are related to Capture The Flag, which has taken the spotlight once again due to Lunar New Year.

Lucio can no longer wall-ride while holding the flag, which Blizzard hopes will improve balance and prevent him from hopping up to “unintended places.” Winston has also seen some changes in the use of his leap/jump pack ability now resulting in a dropped flag. Capture the Flag has always been in favour of more mobile heroes, so hopefully, this has a positive impact.

You can check out the full list of latest patch notes on the official website.

Overwatch Events – Year of the Dog

Overwatch is currently celebrating Lunar New Year with its Year of the Dog seasonal event. Taking place across PS4, Xbox One and PC until March 5, players can earn a bunch of unique cosmetic items exclusive to the event. Capture The Rooster has also returned with Ayutthaya, a new map built specifically for the game mode.

Some of the temporary event’s highlights include gorgeous new skins for Widowmaker, Genji, Zarya, and Mercy. These are all available through loot boxes or for 3000 in-game credits. Cosmetics from last year have been reduced in price, so if you missed out on anything in 2017 now’s your chance!
