Over 100 Xbox 360 titles will be announced for Xbox One next week

The first 100+ Xbox 360 games to be available through the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility program will be revealed on November 9.

Both Xbox chief Phil Spencer and engineering boss Mike Ybarra have taken to Twitter to confirm next Tuesday’s announcement (via GameSpot).

The feature will be launched as part of the New Xbox One Experience, powered by Windows 10, which arrives on November 12.

So far Microsoft is offering a selection of Xbox 360 titles as part of the test program, with users able to sample games like Fallout 3, Gears of War, Mass Effect and Borderlands.

The company has been canvassing users to see which games they would like, but is yet to offer indications of which games and publishers will be part of the initial wave.

The firm has confirmed all future Xbox 360 Games With Gold games will be backwards compatible with the Xbox One.

Microsoft hopes the ability to for 360 users to play their vast arsenal of games on the Xbox One will lead to more folks snapping up the new-gen console.

Sony is not offering backwards compatibility with it’s PS4 console, but is offering access to PS3 games through its 250-strong library of games on PlayStation Now.
