Outlast 2 has been announced, and it’s coming in fall 2016

Developer Red Barrels has announced Outlast 2, a sequel to its hit survival horror title set to come in 2016.

Outlast 2 is coming! A timely announcement when you consider how close we are to Halloween.

The surprise sequel will launch in Fall 2016, it will feature an all new cast of characters and setting.

Developer Red Barrels has released an official blurb to accompany the new teaser trailer:

“Human nature pushes us to extremes of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith. OUTLAST 2 will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do.”

The signature night vision camera will be making a welcome return, so you can expect some terrifyingly dark environments to explore along with equally horrifying enemies.

Red Barrels wish to make us “suffer” with Outlast 2, so we’re a little afraid of what they might have in store.

Outlast released to critical and commercial acclaim when it first launched for PC in September 2013.

It soon made its way to PS4 and Xbox One, however no platforms have been confirmed for Outlast 2 as of yet.

Our money is on a multiplatform release at launch this time around, we’ll be sure you to keep updated when we find out more.
