One of the more notable games of the Xbox 360 era will arrive on the iPhone and iPad tonight, when the original BioShock game hits the App Store.
The game is a full-on mobile port of the 2007 classic, underwater first person shooter, but will feature toned-down graphics, enabling it to run on iOS gadgets.
The launch was announced by developer 2K Games earlier this summer, but the release date was only confirmed on Wednesday.
Eager gamers will be able to get their hands on the touch-controlled version of the BioShock at around 4am BST on Thursday morning.
However, those seeking to re-immerse themselves the world will have to pay a princely sum for the privilege. 2K Games is charging $14.99 for the game, which translates to around £9.99 in the UK app store’s prices.
It will run on the iPad Air, iPad Mini 2, iPad 4, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5, but won’t be compatible with some of Apple’s older mobile devices.
Can a ported BioShock on iOS match up to games developed exclusively for touchscreens such as Infinity Blade 3?
Does the game justify the comparatively high premium? Get downloading on Thursday morning and let us know your thoughts below.
