Ori and the Blind Forest

Ori and the Blind Forest will arrive on March 11 for Xbox One and PC.

Microsoft has finally confirmed the Ori and the Blind Forest release date as March 11.

The Xbox One and PC exclusive was originally announced back at E3 2014, but until know we’ve only had a loose 2015 release date.

Currently the price for the game is set at $19.99 on both platforms, but we’ve not seen a UK price at this stage.

Ori and the Blind Forest is a sidescrolling action platformer that using a stunning art style not dissimilar to the likes of Child of Light or Rayman Legends.

It’s been in the works for four years at Moon Studios, which claims it is aiming to reclaim the magic found in titles like Super Metroid and Zelda with Ori’s mix of platforming and RPG elements.

“We extremely humbled by and appreciative of your continued support and can’t wait for all of you to finally get your hands on Ori and the Blind Forest, the result of our four-year-long journey”, said Moon Studios in a blog post.

During a recent press event held by Moon Studios in San Francisco, Moon Studios showed off a bit of the Forlorn Ruins section of the game, which you can see in the video below.

The eponymous Ori is a forest sprite who has to discover more about his role in the world over the course of his journey through the Blind Forest.
