OnePlus responds over that leaked OnePlus 3 variant

Remember that rumoured red OnePlus 3? Well, we’ve got some bad news for you.

OnePlus has officially confirmed to TrustedReviews that it has no plans to launch a red version of the OnePlus 3, despite a recent leak to the contrary.

Earlier this week, a Twitter user posted an image of a new OnePlus 3 colour variant, depicting the phone in a never-before-seen red hue. The new paint job appeared to have been listed on the Chinese version of the OnePlus website, although we weren’t able to confirm the legitimacy of the claim at the time.

The new colour option appeared to be the same price as existing OnePlus 3 models, but evidence of its credibility was weak. It would have been very easy to photoshop a screenshot of the OnePlus website to change the colour of the phone.

The OnePlus 3, launched earlier this month, is currently only available in a ‘Graphite’ option. However, OnePlus has already confirmed that a new ‘Soft Gold’ variant will be available in the latter half of July.
