The OnePlus 5T launch event date might finally be confirmed
Yet another OnePlus 5T release date leak has emerged, casting even more doubt on the exact launch schedule for the rumoured smartphone.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been hearing about a new OnePlus smartphone that’s supposedly in the works: the OnePlus 5T. It’s an alleged successor to the OnePlus 5, which was launched back in June.
The difficulty is that although we’ve been hearing plenty of release date rumours, they’ve all largely been conflicting so far. We’ve heard a range of different dates throughout November, which is making it increasingly difficult to pin down an accurate launch day.
But today, we’ve been graced with our best OnePlus 5T release date leak yet. Tech blog Gizchina has leaked what appears to be an official OnePlus presentation slide that’s seemingly been sourced via Amazon.
The slide suggests that the OnePlus 5T will be an Amazon exclusive, and features the tagline: “Larger display. Same footprint”. That’s in reference to the new slim-bezel design we’re expecting to be adopted with this model.
But the most exciting titbit is that the slide says that the live launch event will take place on November 16, 2017. That’s just one day later than the OnePlus 3T launch event last year.
Of course, there’s no way of us verifying this information, and OnePlus is still holding off on releasing official details about the rumoured OnePlus 5T handset. As such, take all leaks with due caution for now.
Still, it’s looking very promising that a new OnePlus smartphone is in the works. It’s believed that the phone will be a minor upgrade to the OnePlus 5, featuring a new all-screen front design and an 18:9 aspect ratio screen. This brings premium-tier OnePlus handsets more in line with rival handsets that already offer slim-bezel designs, like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8, the LG V30, and Apple’s iPhone X.
