OnePlus 3 lands in UK stores, but only one network is selling it

You’ll soon be able to buy the OnePlus 3 in-store as O2 becomes the phone’s exclusive stockist in the UK.

O2 is about to become the first operator to ever stock a OnePlus device, with plans to sell the new OnePlus 3 starting on September 29. The phone will be available on several different O2 Refresh tariffs, ranging from 500MB to 20GB of data.

Examples of tariffs include £28-per-month, which gets you 500 minutes, unlimited texts, and 500MB of data, or the £35.50-per-month plan that nets you unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, and 3GB of data. Neither plan will require you to pay an upfront fee.

Alternatively, you can still by the OnePlus 3 outright at the official OnePlus website for £329, in Graphite or Soft Gold colour options.

Speaking about the announcement, Magnus McDonald, Head of Devices at O2, said: “As the only operator in the UK to sell the OnePlus 3, we’re proud to be bringing our customers more choice when it comes to picking their next flagship phone. The OnePlus 3 offers high quality, cutting-edge technology, and great design at an affordable price, and we think our customers will love it.”

OnePlus 3 29

The OnePlus 3 launched back in June, and is the company’s fourth smartphone to date. It was unveiled during a virtual reality event, where it was confirmed to be the first OnePlus handset to be sold without an invitation system. By contrast, previous OnePlus phones were only available to purchase if you received an invite.

The OnePlus 3 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 6GB of RAM, 64GB storage, Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 820 processor, and Google’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system. We gave the phone a 9/10 score in our review, praising its high-quality build, excellent heat-handling, solid camera, and great value for money.

“We chose O2 as our exclusive partner in this important market because they have a history of focusing on the most premium smartphones for the most savvy users, which aligns very well with our products and users,” said Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus. “We look forward to sending ripples through the market together with O2.”

You’ll be able to pick up the OnePlus 3 in O2 stores starting on September 29. There’ll also be a pop-up event at O2’s Westfield White City store between 10:00 and 22:00 that same day.
