OnePlus 3 teaser trailer is short, weird, and really unhelpful

The OnePlus 3 is just 11 days away, but that’s a long wait for ardent fans of the brand. Maybe this will help…

OnePlus has released the first official teaser trailer for its upcoming flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 3. It’s only six seconds long, and it’s a little strange, but it does tell us one thing: the phone will be rectangular. Wow.

Perhaps the most interesting thing we learn from the video is that the launch will take place on June 14. There’s been some disparity regarding details of the unveiling; OnePlus China recently confirmed June 15 as the date in question. However, evidence of a June 14 launch is mounting, so we’d suggest marking that date in your calendars. China’s launch might simply be late.

The other point to note is that there’s an “Amazon exclusive” tag in the video. OnePlus recently confirmed that the phone wouldn’t be subject to its egregious invitation-only purchase system, so it’s nice to see the company selling phones through more conventional retail channels.

The OnePlus 3 is expected to feature the following specs:

  • Android 6.0.1 OS
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor
  • Adreno 530 GPU
  • 64GB storage
  • 5.5-inch screen
  • 1,920 x 1,080 pixel display
  • 15-megapixel rear camera
  • NFC

We’ve also heard that the phone will be priced at 1,999 Yuan in China, which works out at around £210 in the UK – not bad, if it’s true.
