OnePlus 3 could support quick charging
OnePlus has filed for a trademark that may suggest the presence of quick charging in the OnePlus 3.
The OnePlus 2 was a great smartphone with a classy build for a low price, but it also contained some glaring omissions.
Chief among those was a lack of fingerprint sensor and NFC support, but another shortfall was its lack of a quick charging feature.
OnePlus could be all set to address that latter point in its next phone, which is sure to be the OnePlus 3. As pointed out by Pocket Now over the weekend, OnePlus has applied for a US trademark on the term ‘Dash Charge.’
There’s even a nifty little logo to accompany the term.
While there’s no accompanying description of what Dash Charge means, the use of words has us suspecting that OnePlus has created its own quick charging solution.

Given that the OnePlus 3 is likely to run on the Snapdragon 820 CPU, many would have been suspecting support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 standard. However, as with so many other things, OnePlus seems to be going its own way in the charging standard department.
There’s been some controversy surrounding Qualcomm’s own latest quick charging solution and its compatibility with the USB Type-C standard. It’s a combination employed in the HTC 10 and the LG G5, but the two elements aren’t strictly certified to run together.
