OlliOlli 2 users hit 1 million in under a month

Roll7 has confirmed there are now 1 million gamers playing OlliOlli 2.

Just under a month after the OlliOlli 2 release date, developer Roll7 has revealed the game has already amassed over a million users.

The game might have only launched on March 4 here in the UK, but it’s the games positioning as a March PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection title that really helped push adoption.

“Having the opportunity to place OlliOlli 2 in PlayStation Plus is a huge boost for a small studio like ours, we’ve been able to take our user base from the tens of thousands to well over a million,” said Roll7 director Tom Hegarty in an interview with MCV.

“That kind of exposure wouldn’t be possible without the promotion that we get from PS Plus. With this new user base we’ll be well positioned to promote Not A Hero when it comes to PlayStation later this year.”

It’s not clear what percentage of the OlliOlli 2 users are accessing the game for free via PlayStation Plus, but it’s clearly had a big affect on Roll7’s figures.
