This is a cool new twist on the classic bicycle bell, with a fresh design and new sound.
It’s called Oi (as in “get out of the way!”) and it’s made by Australian firm Knog, the company behind the ace Knog Frog bike lights.
Bike lights have looked the same since they were invented in 1877.
It’s so discreet, you could be forgiven for not noticing it at first glance.
But it’s not just the look that Knog set about changing. It came up with a new sound too. The Oi has a spring-loaded actuator built into the mount, making for a good balance and longevity of sound. This means the bell has several pitch tones. Putting it in terms usually used for a musical instrument, most bells play a single note while Oi plays a chord.

It comes in five finishes: brushed aluminium, brass-plated, copper-plated, black and titanium.

It’s a natty design from one of our favourite bike companies. (Though we still really like this bike horn.) It’s raised $250,000AUD of a $20,000AUD goal and still has 25 days to go. Pledge $26AUD (£13) and it can be yours. It will ship in August.
