Aiming to protect the new iPhone duo from the outset, Apple has been quick to launch the official cases for the iPhone 5C and 5S and new lighting docks for the devices.
The flagship iPhone 5S can be purchased with a leather case that comes in six different colours – yellow, beige, blue, brown, black and (RED) edition.
“New Apple-designed cases pair beautifully with your iPhone 5S,” states the Apple Store. “They’re crafted from premium leather, so they look and feel luxurious. They come in six different colours – including a (RED) edition. And they’re precision engineered to fit your iPhone 5S. So even when the case is on, your device is still slim and elegant in your hand.”
Made from premium leather, the iPhone 5S cases also have a colour matched microfiber lining to protect your phone on the inside too. They retail for £35 a piece though.
The iPhone 5C cases on the other hand are made from soft-touch silicone and you are encouraged to choose a contrasting colour to that of the iPhone 5C you’re wielding. They come the same white, pink, yellow, blue, green and black as the iPhone 5C itself, so you could go matching if you wanted to.
“These new cases are as colourful and well made as the iPhone 5C – because they were designed alongside it,” reads the Apple store. “The fit is impeccable. And they come in six different colours, so you can create 30 bright combinations. Unlike most cases, these weren’t designed just to add protection. They were designed to have fun.”
Like the iPhone 5S cases, the iPhone 5C has a soft microfiber lining to protect the plastic casing. Those cut-out holes in the back, although adding to the fun effect, will leave the iPhone 5C unprotected in places.
Apple has also launched two new lighting connector docks for the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, that present your new iOS 7 smartphone while charging it too.
