O2 announces exclusive gold Moto 360

O2 has announced the exclusive availability of the gold Motorola Moto 360.

While you can pick up the Moto 360 in its new light gold guise online through the likes of Amazon, O2 will provide the only way of walking into a shop, trying one on for size, and purchasing the smartwatch there and then.

Or at least, it will once the gold Moto 360 becomes available. You’ll be able to grab one from O2 shops on April 23.

Right now the Moto 360 in light gold (aka Champagne Gold) is available for pre-order online, with delivery expected from April 21.

The new model, with its 18mm stainless steel band, costs £249.99. That represents a £50 premium over the standard 22mm leather strap model. Still, that’s £50 cheaper than the entry-level (and non-gold) Apple Watch.

Other than the colour, this is the same Moto 360 that received mixed reviews last year. It features a stylishly chunky round-faced design (with a slight flat tire look), a 1.5-inch 320 x 290 display, a slightly weedy 320mAh battery, IP67 water resistance, wireless charging support, an optical heart-rate monitor, and of course Google’s Android Wear OS.

Last week, a picture of the Moto 360 2 seemed to leak with a perfectly round face, while there have also been rumours of an improved 360 x 360 display.
