Nvidia Titan X GPU announced with 12 gigabyte frame buffer

Nvidia has lifted the lid on the Nvidia Titan X GPU, which it is touting as the most advanced GPU ever.

The company’s CEO Jen-Hsun Huang took to the stage during an Epic talk during GDC 2015 to reveal the Titan X, though held back on revealing much about the new card.

Instead we can expect to hear more at Nvidia’s own GPU Technology Conference (GTC) in two weeks time.

A couple of details that were mentioned include the use of 12GB of VRAM, which would indicate a 384-bit memory bus, and it consisting of 8 billion transistors.

Epic’s Tim Sweeney was handed the first Titan X card in recognition of the partnership between the two companies.
