Nvidia’s brand new ‘Kepler’ Series 6 GPU has already leaked on the web in the form of its impressive-looking, high-end GTX680, but it’s not just the desktop that will be getting the benefits of this new graphics architecture. Acer has revealed its Aspire Timeline Ultra M3 Ultrabook will come with a GeForce GT640M, making it one of the first Ultrabooks that should handle a bit of gaming.
You’ll also get all the benefits that Nvidia’s next-generation GPU brings to the table, and this specific iteration will have 1GB of RAM to play with. Whether it’s powerful enough to run demanding games at the laptop’s native 1,366 x 768 will have to be seen.
Mind you, its graphics isn’t the only enticing thing about Acer’s latest ultraportable. There’s also an optical drive and, even rarer on an Ultrabook, a 15in screen. This is something we’ll be seeing more of as Ultrabooks expand to both laptop extremes (10in to 18in).
