Is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 a Batmobile / DeLorean love child?

Alleged pictures of the as-yet-unannounced GTX 1080 already appear to be doing the rounds.

The image leaked on Tuesday, appears to show the GeForce GTX 1080 cooler shroud, which looks a little bit like DeLorean and a Batmobile had a baby, has emerged via a Chinese web forum.

As per an Overclock3D report, the GPU cooler design is due an upgrade as it hasn’t changed since Nvidia launched the GTX Titan three years ago.

Despite what we think appears to be a nice design, commenters on the original report don’t agree.

One declared it an “80s abortion” compared with the original Titan style, while another claimed it was “too blingy” before adding “slick designs are what its all about.”

Of course, the design will only go so far. The GeForce GTX 1080 is expected to contain the Pascal CP104 GPU and 8GB of GDDR5 memory.

There’s no news yet on when Nvidia plans to launch the new range.
