Now everyone can own a smartphone connected car - for under £50

Smartphone integration is a big selling point for auto manufacturers these days. Whether it’s apps that can start the car, full-on dashboard services like CarPlay and Android Auto, or simple Bluetooth, most drivers want some form of connectivity.

To that end Logitech has come up with a solution - launching in the UK today - which enables drivers to connect with their handsets without splashing out on a new auto and, importantly, without even touching their phones while at the wheel.

The Logitech ZeroTouch accessories hook up to the air-vent or the dashboard and use an Android app to enable hands-free, voice control on Android smartphones.

Drivers will be able to listen to messages and dictate replies (which will be read back without sending), make and receive calls, stream music through Spotify or request a destination via Google Maps and Waze.

Users will even be able to share their locations through Glympse and all without touching the phone.

Instead, drivers will offer the phone a “talk to the hand” style gesture to initiate the app and it’s all voice controlled from there.

The Logitech OneTouch air vent accessory is £49.99, while the dashboard counterpart is £59.99. Both go on sale exclusively at Carphone Warehouse on September 7.

Future updates to the app, which is available for Android 4.4 and above, will boast email app integration

I'd like to see it work before I shell out the money, but it sure looks promising...
