*UPDATE* Square Enix has confirmed the closure of free-to-play title Nosgoth.
The news was confirmed in a blog post on the game’s official forums.
“It is with a heavy heart and an immense sense of sadness that we must announce the end of Nosgoth’s development,” the post reads. “Servers will continue to run until 31st May 2016, during which time you will be able to play the game as normal. After that date, Nosgoth will be taken offline for the last time.”
“This was not an easy decision to come to. It has been a pleasure to build this game with your help, but ultimately its audience hasn’t grown enough to sustain ongoing operations.”

Nosgoth, Square Enix’s free-to-play multiplayer action game, has been cancelled, a source has informed TrustedReviews.
The game has been in open beta since January 2015, but a source informs us that the game is set to be cancelled, with an announcement expected imminently.
Plans of how exactly the game’s servers will be shut down were unconfirmed.
Nosgoth was leaked back in 2013 as the first entry in almost a decade from the Legacy of Kane series.
Initially, the project was planned as part of a single-player title, Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun, but after that game’s cancellation, was repatriated as a free-to-play multiplayer experience, and was revealed as such in September 2013, which drew criticism from fans.

Unfortunately, it now seems like Nosgoth won’t see a full release, either.
However, the Nosgoth blog has still been posting regular updates regarding new content and tournaments, so it would seem the game will receive support until the servers are shut down.
