The Nokia Lumia 920 was unveiled on Wednesday 5 September, but Nokia did not say when the phone would go on sale, or how roughly much it would cost. Telecoms sources are now saying that the phone will go on sale in November, in time to capitalise on most of the Christmas rush.

We're just a couple of months away from the release of the Nokia Lumia 920, which was unveiled this week. According to telecoms industry sources cited by Reuters, the phone will go on sale in November. It may be in time to snag a few Christmas sales, but it's a way behind the iPhone 5, which is likely to go on sale by early October at the latest.

The "European telecoms operator" exec source said that the phone will be available in the second half of November in a fistful of other tier one countries - presumably including the UK. Although refusing to be named, the exec also said that Nokia has pretty much flattened its chances of selling many Lumia phones in the next two months, "The problem is that Nokia has temporarily destroyed the market for its own phones. Nobody will buy the old Windows phone and until the new Lumia comes, the market is absolutely dead."

Worsening the lot of phones like the Lumia 800 and Lumia 900, Windows Phone 7 handsets will not get an upgrade to Windows Phone 8. It's a fresh start, apparently, but one that could leave a lot of bad blood for the Nokia Lumia series in its wake.

As usual, it's more bad news for Nokia. And the reception its Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 phones have received thus far isn't looking too rosy, either. In the hours following the phones' unveiling, Nokia share values started to diminish, shrinking a worrying 15.9 per cent by the close of the markets that day.

Who's up for giving Nokia hand and picking up a Lumia 920? Drop us a comment if you are.

I wonder if the guys at the Nokia board of directors are getting a good deal from Microsoft and the current shareholders getting shafted. I've seen this before, the BoD and mainly the chair and the exec, driving the share price down to an unsustainable level (debt to equity ratio) and straight into the hands of M$, grabbing their share of the company in the process (as management share incentive plan).

The majority of Elop's decisions have questionable benefit for Nokia, but M$ seems to be benefiting from most of them.
