Nokia camera update adds RAW file support
The already impressive Nokia Lumia 1020 camera just got a little better, with the snap-happy handset receiving an update that has added RAW file support.
With Nokia’s recent handsets having drawn attention for the impressive camera capabilities, the Nokia World confirmed update has now started rolling out to Nokia Lumia 1020 owners. The 6-inch Nokia Lumia 1520 will also receive the RAW shooting capabilities when the handset lands in the UK next week.
Clearly committed to improving the photographic potential of its handsets, Nokia announced last month its intention to add RAW file support to its flagship phone’s camera app.
The Finnish corporation today announced that the new version of Nokia’s camera app that comes combined with added RAW file support is now available for users to download.

Once users of the Lumia handsets have downloaded the new version of the phone’s camera app, they then have to select the DNG capture mode in setting tools to enable the feature.
Windows device owners are able to use Windows Explorer’s desktop tool to download their RAW images, however, Mac users will require the latest version of the Nokia Phone Transfer app to utilise the feature.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 will be available to purchase from December 6 around £600 on a SIM free basis. Alongside a 20-megapixel PureView sensor on the rear, the 1520 is also enhanced by a Carl Zeiss lens, auto focus and dual LED flash.
