€29 Nokia 220 launched at MWC 2014

Nokia has launched the Nokia 220 as a €29 smartphone aimed at developing markets at MWC 2014.

The Nokia 220 is intended to entice those in developing markets to make the switch from feature phones, but for an affordable price.

Nokia highlighted that the Nokia 220 may well provide the first opportunity for some users to get online and get connected.

This will be helped by pre-loaded Facebook and Twitter applications, and integrated Microsoft Bing search.

The 2.4-inch display smartphone is available in single- or dual-sim variants, and offers a battery life of nearly one month on standby.

It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and is capable of 59-hours of music playback.

The most exciting feature of this colourful, yet basic smartphone is its €29 (£24) single-sim variant price tag.
