Get ready for some exciting games announcements at E3

Microsoft's head of Xbox Live has moved to allay fears that the company's Xbox One keynote at the E3 gaming expo will focus on the console's home entertainment features rather than the games.

During the console's unveiling last week, the focus appeared to be weighted on how the console could be used for cable TV integration and entertainment apps compared to the actual gaming experience.

This prompted fears from hardcore Xbox fans that Microsoft was shifting from its core gaming audience with the next-fen offering.

However, Larry Hyrb (known better by his Xbox Live gamertag Major Nelson) said the company's keynote will be all about the games.

In response to a tweet asking whether the keynote would be "TV, TV TV TV TV TV TV, TV, TV TV TV TV TV TV, TV, TV TV TV TV TV TV, TV & no games at E3?", Hyrb responded with impressive poise and clarity.

He wrote: "I can confirm that we will have TV's (or similar)  on stage to show the games. That should be the extend of TV talk in your #E3"

Microsoft has confirmed that it has already committed $1 billion (about £600m) to first-party gaming exclusives for the Xbox One, while it'll also have 15 exclusive games at launch.

The company has long-maintained that its launch would be a two-part affair and it stands to reason that the initial launch would seek to reach the largest potential audience, while the E3 event focused on the core gaming loyalists.

Shortly after the event, the company confirmed that the LA event would be "all about the games" but that had failed to calm the fears of the more paranoid gamers out there.

The E3 expo itself will kick off in ten days time, where Sony will also reveal more about its plans for the PlayStation 4 console.

Which of the knowledge gaps left open after respective gaming titans announced their consoles are you most looking forward to being filled?

Games? console costs? Official release dates? Or perhaps the first look at the PS4 design? Let us know in the comments section below?
