Hello Games has squashed rumours it is launching No Man’s Sky this week at Sony’s Paris Games Week press conference.
You might have seen the rumours that suggest Sony is going to launch No Man’s Sky tomorrow night, but as usual the internet has got it wrong.
The rumours started when No Man’s Sky was conspicuously absent from Sony’s line-up at Paris Games Week.
Sony refused to comment when pressed by VG247, a website that also claims to have knowledge of the alleged surprise No Man’s Sky launch.
There was also the thought that a massive PSN/PS4 launch would combat the Halo 5 launch tomorrow on Xbox One.

However, Hello Games’ Sean Murray has taken to Twitter to squash rumours of a surprise launch.

Sony’s major Paris Games Week press conference takes place tomorrow night starting at 5pm UK time on October 27.
Murray originally planned to announced the No Man’s Sky release date at E3, but decided against it at the last minute.
“We really wanted to announce a release date. It’s really hard to explain,” he said. “We want the game to be out. If we thought it was good enough we would release it. If we thought it was finished we would release it.”
“We were going to announce a release date. There are reasons why we began to realise that it might not be accurate for some reasons outside of our control and I don’t want the pressure of that, to be honest. You actually create people being upset with you, for announcing a release date and then changing it. It’s the worst thing, like saying Christmas is the 25th of December and then changing it.”
