Having officially unveiled its upcoming next-generation console more than a year ago, Japanese gaming giant Nintendo has today officially unveiled the eagerly awaited Nintendo Wii U UK release date and price.
Looking to capitalise on the lucrative Christmas market and return its fortunes following a period of quarterly loses, Nintendo has confirmed that the next-gen gamer will hit British shores less than a month before the festive season, with a November 30th Nintendo Wii U release date set.
Set to be made available in two forms in a bid to appease all user demands and budgets, Nintendo has confirmed that both the Basic Nintendo Wii U and the Premium Nintendo Wii U will launch on November 30th, less than two weeks after the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 rival touches down in the US.
Touching down in the US on Sunday, November 18th, Nintendo has revealed that, somewhat surprisingly, both American and European markets will get the touchscreen controller toting console before the company’s native Japan where a December 8th Wii U release date has been set.
Whilst the Basic Nintendo Wii U model is set to be made available with a white finish and 8GB of internal flash memory, the more expensive Premium Nintendo Wii U lines up with a black outer shell and 32GB of inbuilt storage. With both consoles coming boxed with a Nintendo Wii U GamePad, a GamePad stylus and the usual Ac adapter and HDMI cable collection, those splashing out on the Premium model will also be treated to a GamePad charging stand, GamePad playing stand, Wii U stand and a copy of the NintendoLand game.
Not content with confirming the upcoming Nintendo Wii U release date, the gaming giant, speaking during its Nintendo Direct conference, has revealed a selection of Nintendo Wii U launch titles with the previously confirmed NintendoLand offering to be joined New Super Mario Bros. U.
Whilst Pikmin 3 is tipped for an early 2013 arrival, Nintendo has revealed that Rayman Legends, ZombiU, Mass Effect 3 and FIFA 13 will also line up as Wii U launch titles in the UK.
