Following last Friday's November 30 Nintendo Wii U UK release date, latest figures have revealed that early adopters have mainly been going for the £299 Nintendo Wii U Premium bundle.

According to data from analysts GfK Chart Track, 60 percent of UK based Nintendo Wii U sales made during the console’s opening weekend were for the Premium bundle, which sees a 32GB itteration of the next-generation gamer line up with a selection of accessories and a copy of the Nintendo Land game.

Out of the remaining sales, 30 percent went for another high-end offering, the limited edition Zombi U bundle, which also contains a Pro Controller. It has an RRP of about £330 but an apparent shortage of stock has already pushed its price up on sites such as eBay and the Amazon Marketplace.

Only 10 percent of buyers were said to have gone for the £248 entry-level Nintendo Wii U Basic pack, which has 8GB of storage and no bundled software.

There are no official sales totals available yet. The console has reportedly sold out of initial stocks in the US, where it launched in mid-November, but was still outsold by veteran consoles the Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3.

Although the Nintendo Wii U UK release date was supported by a strong collection 24 new games for the platform, sales figures have shown that not a single Nintendo Wii U title broke in to the top ten of this week's All Format UK Gaming Chart which for a third consecutive week was dominated by Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Nintendo Land – one of the bundled titles – appeared at number 11, with New Super Mario Bros U at 13 and the other bundled game, Zombi U, at 17.
