With the eagerly awaited Nintendo Wii U launch now just days away, yesterday saw the first Wii Mini rumours emerge, suggesting the Japanese gaming giant is to launch a refreshed and sub sized iteration of its now aging motion gamer ahead of this year’s ever nearing Christmas period.
Leaking via the Canadian arm of retail giant Best Buy, the first prematurely outed Nintendo Wii Mini images offer a first tantalising glimpse at the Nintendo Wii follow-on with the compact console seen sporting a black and red colour scheme. Seemingly set to come bundled with a single red Wiimote, the Nintendo Wii Mini has been made available to pre-order by Best Buy Canada although the current link does not work.
Appearing on the retailers homepage, Best Buy has become the first to offer an insight into the as yet unconfirmed Nintendo Wii Mini, pairing an image of the device with the statement “Introducing the Wii Mini. Coming Dec 7, 2012.”
Although little is known about the recently rumoured Nintendo Wii Mini, it has been claimed that the smaller and expectantly cut price console will line up simply as a "Compact Nintendo Wii Console,” with the tipped December 7 Nintendo Wii Mini release date having been previously speculated on.

A sidebar to Nintendo’s next-generation console, any pre-Christmas Nintendo Wii Mini release date will see the compact console largely overshadowed by the long awaited Nintendo Wii U release date.
Nintendo’s first console to graphically rival the likes of the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3, the Nintendo Wii U is to come paired with the Wii U GamePad, a tablet-esque controller that is set to introduce a raft of second screen gaming possibilities to the family orientated console.
