Nintendo IS launching new hardware this year: a miniature NES!

Nintendo, while currently enjoying a monumental high in the form of Pokemon GO, has made another huge announcement regarding new hardware.

While not the Nintendo NX, which many of us are wildly anticipating, the company has instead revealed a new, miniature Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

Dubbed the “Nintendo Classic Mini”, the NES will come packed with 30 classic titles, all for just $59.99.

The console connects to the TV via HDMI, and will come packaged with a classic mini NES controller, which can also be used to play retro games on the Wii and Wii U Virtual Console.

While UK pricing is yet to be confirmed, GAME has already Tweeted to inform people it will be stocking the tiny console:

The console will launch on 11 November worldwide. Nintendo president and COO Reggie Fils-Aimé had this to say about the new console (via NintendoLife):

“We wanted to give fans of all ages the opportunity to revisit Nintendo’s original system and rediscover why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place. The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition is ideal for anyone who remembers playing the NES, or who wants to pass on those nostalgic memories to the next generation of gamers.”
