Nikon D500 wins Camera of the Year at #TrustedReviewsAwards 2016

The Nikon D500 DSLR has won Camera of the Year at the TrustedReviews Awards 2016.

Nikon’s professional-grade DSLR is an impressive bit of kit, wooing cash-flush photographers when it launched back in January this year. With a 20.9-megapixel CMOS sensor, support for 4K video capture at 30 frames per second, and Nikon’s EXPEED5 image processor on board, it’s easy to see why we’re so impressed with the Nikon D500.

Reviews Editor Alastair Stevenson had this to say:

“Nikon took its sweet time building the D500, but luckily the final product was worth the wait. Nikon’s successor to the D300S is one of the best all round APS-C DSLRs on the market and can operate in a variety of different shooting scenarios. It’s no surprise the D500 won this year’s Camera of the Year award.”

We gave the Nikon D500 a 4.5/5 score in our review, praising its 100% optical viewfinder, tilting screen, enthusiast-centric controls, and dual memory card slots. Here’s our verdict from the original review:

“There’s a huge amount to love about the Nikon D500. Those who’ve been waiting so long for a D300S replacement should be thrilled by the fantastic camera Nikon has produced.”
