Nike FuelBand SE unveiled as colourful fitness tracker

Sports giant Nike has expanded its range of wearable fitness trackers, with the Nike FuelBand SE officially unveiled in a variety of colours.

A minor update on last year’s original Nike FuelBand, the SE offers more accurate activity tracking, with the wrist-worn gadget lining up alongside a revised app for more detailed data consumption

We continue to innovate around the Nike ecosystem to deliver the very best experiences for our consumers, motivating and inspiring athletes at all levels,” Stefan Olander, Nike’s VP of Digital Sport said. “The Nike Fuel Lab, along with new Nike FuelBand SE and Nike Apps significantly enhance our NikeFuel platform.”

Nike FuelBand SE Features
Formally unveiled at a dedicated launch event in New York City, the Nike FuelBand SE adds Bluetooth 4.0, for less power heavy connectivity with your smartphone. Based around a largely similar design to its predecessor, the Nike FuelBand SE adds water resistance alongside a redesigned circuit board on the inside which helps makes the device more flexible and rugged.

Sporting the same LED display, the new Nike FuelBand SE is built around the same Fuel Points premise, transforming all of your daily activities into Nike’s own metric. This data can then be analysed on a companion app, letting you set daily targets.

Breaking down this feedback further, the new FuelBand SE will let you track hourly periods, as well as set sessions to record your runs or gym sessions in more detail.

Building on the basic black of the original, the new Nike FuelBand SE adds a splash of colour, with Volt Yellow, Pink Foil and Total Crimson accents set to be made available.

Nike FuelBand SE Release Date and Price
While a precise UK price or arrival period is still be determined, Nike has made its latest FuelBand offering available for pre-order in the States today. A Nike FuelBand SE price has been set at $149 (£93).
