Nexus 6 launches in the UK through O2

Following the phone’s late September unveiling, the first UK retailer has started stocking the Nexus 6.

Going on sale through O2, the eagerly awaited 6-inch handset is now available on contract after a brief spell of SIM-free availability via the Google Play Store last week.

With the Play Store still lacking stock of the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S5 rival, O2 is now the primary seller of the Android 5.0 Lollipop powered handset.

Being offered through network’s O2 Refresh service, the handset is available on a range of tariffs offering anywhere between a 500MB and 8GB monthly data allowance.

For those eager to snap up the device, the Nexus 6 is being offered on a special deal until December 18. Until this date the phone is available on a 2 year, £38 per month deal with no upfront cost. Those making use of the offer will see their new handset paired with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and a 2GB data allowance.

At present O2 is only offering the Nexus 6 in its 32GB capacity guise and a midnight blue colour scheme. There is currently no word on when the white handset or 64GB storage options will be available for purchase.

Launched alongside the Nexus 9 tablet, the Nexus 6 pairs a 6-inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel QHD display alongside a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM.

The Motorola-made handset’s specs sheet is further enhanced by a 13-megapixel, OIS-enhanced rear-mounted camera, 2-megapixel selfie snapper and a 3220mAh Lithium-Polymer battery.
