Google has formally announced the Nexus 5X, its latest flagship smartphone.
The handset, which was built by South Korean manufacturer LG, launched alongside a sister device: the Nexus 6P.
The Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 808 processor, a 12.3-megapixel rear-facing camera, and 2GB of RAM.
It’s also got a fingerprint sensor, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and ships in two storage options – 16GB or 32GB.
And, of course, it runs on Google’s newly launched Android 6.0 Marshmallow mobile operating system.
The Nexus 5X is available to pre-order right now, and will start shipping later in October.

Nexus 5X SIM-free price
Google will, as usual, be selling the phone outright through its own web store.
The handset comes in two different storage variants, and is available on a SIM-free basis.
For the 16GB version of the phone, you’ll be looking to pay $379.
If you’d rather have the Nexus 5X 32GB model, it’ll cost you $429.
Nexus 5X colour options
Google unveiled the Nexus 5X in three different colour options.
That’s likely to bank on the growing desire that consumers have for alternatively-hued handsets.
As such, the Nexus 5X colour options available are the more prosaic white and black, as well as a new ‘Icy Blue’ offering.
