New Xbox likely to make first European appearance at Gamescom in August

Microsoft’s next Xbox console and the first wave of launch titles, will arrive on European soil, perhaps for the first time at Gamescom in August.

In a tweet on Tuesday, the Xbox EMEA social marketing manager Graham Boyd promised that the console would be at the annual trade show in Cologne, Germany.

He told his 25,000 followers that the next generation of games will be in toe, those likely to be on the front line when Microsoft releases the console, hopefully in time for Christmas.

He tweeted: “Xbox will be back at Gamescom this August. “Next chapter of Xbox gaming experiences” on show. Can’t wait, LOVE Gamescom.”

Microsoft will officially launch the console in two weeks time at an event on its campus in Redmond, Washington on May 21st.

All of the speculation to date has suggested the major details will be revealed at the media event, while a roadshow throughout the summer will fill in all of the gaps.

Microsoft already has an event planned on the eve of the E3 gaming expo in Los Angeles in June, where most of the flagship launch titles will probably be on show.

One can only hope that the appearance at Gamescom in Cologne from August 21-25 will bring more new titles, rather than just a re-run of the E3 launches.

However, whatever’s on show, it will be great for European gamers to get their first glimpse of what Microsoft and its developer partners has to offer.

As has been the case over the last couple of weeks, this isn’t the only next Xbox news to hit Trusted’s news feed today.

Earlier we brought word of reports suggesting the console will indeed be called Xbox Infinity. We’ll know for sure in just two week’s time.
