New Ricoh Theta lets you shoot 360-degree videos

Ricoh Imaging has unveiled a new model of its Theta camera, with the fresh-faced snapper now capable of filming 360-degree videos.

The UK firm’s latest shooter fare is called the Ricoh Theta M15, and ships with a host of upgrades to improve on its predecessor.

The most important of these is a new spherical recording mode, which offers full 360-degree video capture.

The Theta M15 can record your surroundings for up to three minutes, and promises ‘no stitch lines’ either.

It manages such seamless footage because it captures everything around the user in one single shot, rather than sticking together multiple semi-spherical shots.

The new model also boasts boosted Wi-Fi transfer, which Ricoh reckons is around twice as fast as the previous model.

It’s also good for generic video capture, as well as the expected still image shooting.

Ricoh says its new kit has ‘opened a new world of imaging possibilities.”

Users can now shoot game changing spherical images and video at any time, capturing more than they ever imagined.

There’s a rainbow-fondling range of colour options on offer too. The M15 comes in blue, pink, white, and yellow.

The developer beta kit and the M15’s API become available on November 14, retailing at a hefty £269.99.
